SECRET PETE'S:
THE POETRY UNDERGROUND
Secret Pete's is a poetry community founded in March 2023 for the purpose of holding themed, monthly poetry open mics at Pete's Candy Store. Our mic has attracted writers of all genres and modes and is hosted by Arianna. Posters and photos of our events can be found on Instagram @secretpetes.
From October 2025 forward, Secret Pete's will be shifting our mic schedule to 2-4 x / year, and we are open to hosting at new locations. We also are in the early planning stages of our first printed publication featuring our community's work.
Secret Pete's has hosted events including a writing workshop, featured poet readings, a site-specific mic (August 2023 "Picnic" mic), and a collab event (May 2024 "Coffee, Chiacchiere and Cards!" co-organized with Trinacria Theatre Co.).
